I’m removing the fuel tank (it’s empty), is there an easy way of removing the fuel pipe underneath? I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried yet but thought I’d get some advise first.

It a pig of a job , you need a 7/16 spanner , undo and remove all the tank mount bolts first , then stick your head in the spare wheel or use a mirror and undo the union , NOT the tank one but the pipe once - hence the 7/16 spanner size , once its fully undone jerk the tank upwards and it should come out .
Remove the fuel filler hose and overflow pipe as well of course
