    Boredom sets in

So decided as a test on the new software release of the software I use mainly. Test was a failure but design is fine.

No idea if it will embed or not

    https://www.altium.com/viewer?token=...pxp%2FktTKDS4n

Click on 3D and fill your boots

Although scaled up to real world sizes this is actually 1/100 size so only 32cm tall.

Wonder if i could branch out into dolls houses

Looks better with colour on the skin, for some reason the faces that show as grey is a bug, one of the things that need fixed.

On screen its actually like this so the skin is coloured and opaque, you can see the inner construction (with bit of roof left off.

I have another for the tubular steel structure which will be the shed in the back garden but that frame is still down in Dunbar

You will recognise this one Bob, RG385 for stub pins / bushes. Could 3D print that now or load the file to CNC and let it loose.

Its what us guys who only ever worked a lathe back in trade classes do now to get parts made

Bob, nope, last person I know that made any was Andy Gill Uncle Henry who had some made in stainless I think.

I can pretty much model most things, I did the STLs for Robins pawls for the back rear stays, the artworks for Rogers ID and vin plates and many many enclosures.

Nearly everything I do now has a native 3D component, step, iges, stl formats now problem.

Thing is with folks with your skill set a flat drawing is enough but to load to a CNC or milling machine it really needs a model to load in.

Bob Allan knows I do this, in fact it would be really short work for Bob A to model these things himself, even in tabulated input as the maths and scripts for him would be easy.

In a way its really a shame as the skills you have Bob are kind of bypassed as are the oppertunities for people to learn those skills. Those skills are far more intuative than any automated machine will ever be. The amount of times I have heard of broken tools stopping / killing a run, unbelievable, a real machinist/tool maker would never do that.

I can take that computer file of mine, upload it online, get a price

For example that RG385 model which I just tried, for 20 pcs I can get a choice of prices from vendors from 7 Euors to £42 each depending on who I use.

Not the same as laying hands on steel Bob and making them yourself though.

If you look in APEX 24 you'll see the tool with a dimensioned drawing

I did that model off the original I have here Andy, I tend to use the copoies for mashing out the pins and bushes but the original to press them back in after a bit of TLC.
