UH
Rotax made car parts & aeroplane parts ,part of Lucas group , Large factory on Hemels major industrial estate of the time , think it took major hit when Buncefield oil \petro chemical plant blew up over Christmas break about 10 years ago.
Part of our training was an hours football (they had their own sports ground ) every morning , exercises in pavilion during winter (NOT so good old days) .
There was initiation routine for first years , involved lots of Swarfega\ barrier cream etc and removal of shorts after football, carried out by the second years , backs were turned by instructors . GOOD OLD DAYS!
We did EITB training with day and half college (City & Guilds) three years , l wanted to do electrics , did the first year electrical bias then Rotax said they wouldn't need anyone in a couple of years , so did turning & grinding .

Apprentice initiation Boba culural hertitage and right of passage frowned upon now and a ritual long since lost.
Pat you ever wonder why Findlay hardly had any hair all his days, that was when he started at SMT and the fellas reckoned body filler was the next big thing in hair gel, you dont want to know what they did with the seam sealer......... cleanup was wash bay outside the offices scrubbing brush and thinners....

Rest on end stop, set to zero, press red lever back all way, let it go back to rest, do 3 times, I got 3 different readings, if you touch the red lever and move it froward or back when holding it changed reading/ John
