91959Engine woes not as strees ful as they could be, big shout out to Andy Jones and Scott Clements for the offer to borrow an engine. Very humbling to be offered such support.
Still first up was picking the spare 930 with a death rattle that was living in the corner.

So tearing it down it did not look too bad. Head was agoner though.
It also had some running issues which i never got to the bottom of. Checked crudely to see if the valves were leaking, seemd ok static

A little bit of air and it was a differents tory
Timing chain was next up so checked the old chain as it did sound like a chain rattle and a few witness marks.
Old chain (crude check)

Just used steel rule to push chain till tight using the stud as a datum.
Then tried another chain which I assume is good as I had kept it in oil.
QUite a difference, add the chain issue to the over skim on the head, reckon thats where the rattle was coming from.
54 to 47mm

So time to find a good head, the 180 head was still on Jimmys olde engien so time to pull that off and see
