Hi John, yes using cellulose and a hvlp gun 2.0 for the undercoats and 1.5 for the top coat.
I was just trying to paint a picture with the planets analogy the mist being so thick.
Will give the laquer a try on a hidden area to see what it looks like but will mind your advice!
thanks for all the tips really appreciate it.
    Cheers Keith

celly ? ear me Keith going completely period on that one Go thin and leave plenty flash time, otherwise the skin effect will leave the coats underneath soft for donkeys. Adding clear coat for UV seal will make it a bit worse if whats under is not flashed off fully.

2K all the way baby done in morning, out in afternoon

          Keith

          See here

single stage base coat, the small ripple/orange peel in the base coat as applied too thick and when I add clear it will stay there unless I am very lucky with the wet on wet flash times.

Get you base coat the dogs before any clear coat

Not fussed as this is just a tidy up of the van but your car will look cool.
          / John

Hmm, taken on board. John. So if I leave it to fully flash off then do clear later and possibly a bit of 1500 grit to key the surface once it hard?
anyway I fixed up a tiny extractor but now Linda has hung up some washing! Click image for larger version

Despite its size the extractor is working well to clear the fog. Full steam ahead.

Great stuff Keith, the extraction will help loads.

Looking good, but yes, make sure your base coat is as good as you can get it crap, ripple, peel, spot wise and good coverage before doing clear.

If you change your mind on the clear coat I have plenty 2K here
                / John

Extraction not only helps the paint finish but your ability to be healthy enough to drive it once your finished too .
Great stuff seeing the paint going on Keith.
You will have it ready for Mondays meeting in Dunfermline at this rate..

Spot on Keith, looking good all in the one colour and must be a great mojo boost for yourself seeing it painted now.
Doors, bonnet and engine cover this weekend then?

Col, yes I don't have room to do doors bonnet etc with the car in the garage so need to make sure it's not going to rain as I'm sure water droplets on the new paint won't end well!

                            Keith,
I thought that would be the case seeing you only have half of your garage sealed up. Makes sense to check the weather so you can leave the car outdoors whilst you paint the doors, bonnet and engine cover etc.
Looks good for the rest of the week so the car can bake in the sun this weekend whilst your painting.

                            Keep us posted.
                            Cheers
                            Col.

So I painted the boot lid with 1k acrylic nail polish. Smells awful but it is quite shiny. Now undecided what to do. Will sleep on it! Click image for larger version

Keith if its looking good and plenty to cut back go for it. Will at least save any paint fade.

Must admit looks really nice that colour in the sun.

But take advantage of the current free "heating" for the booth
